The Kohler Wellworth Dual Flush toilet has a rounded front that requires less floor space than the elongated toilets, suitable for smaller bathrooms and powder rooms. It is one of our Top-Rated Dual Flush Toilets. Let’s read the details in this Kohler Wellworth toilet review.
The fact that the toilet is a little smaller does not reduce its efficiency of the toilet. Kohler Wellworth has a Class 5 flush system that can remove a large quantity of waste in just one flush and still meet the EPA Water Sense specifications for low water consumption.
Kohler Wellworth Dual Flush Toilet
Design/Materials
This two-piece toilet is made from vitreous china in an almond color. Unusually for a dual flush toilet, it has a single lever to activate both flushes, rather than the standard buttons on top of the tank. On installation, the tank is joined to the base with three fixings.
Flushing System
Kohler’s class 5 toilets are known for the amount of waste that they can flush away in a single flush, even with only 1.28 gallons of water. The dual flush system delivers a full flush of 1.28 gallons or a partial flush of 1.1 gallons.
This video, from Kohler, explains the way that the flushing system works.
Cleaning
On a full 1.28-gallon flush, the Kohler Wellworth dual-flush toilet will clear up to four times the volume of waste that the average adult needs. This efficiency in clearing waste is due to a combination of the siphon action giving additional power to the water entering the bowl. As well as the way that the water enters the bowl around the full circumference of the rim, and the design and shape of the toilet bowl.
Consumption
This toilet has a dual flush delivering either 1.28 gallons of water per full flush or 1.1 gallons on a partial flush. The toilet, due to its low water consumption plus the ability of the toilet to clear all waste in a single flush is what makes the toilet EPA Water Sense certified. Water Sense-certified toilets can, in many areas, qualify for rebates from water bills. To check if your area is covered check out the EPA Water Sense rebate finder page.
Ease of Installation
The Kohler dual flush toilet uses a standard rough-in of 12” to the center of the waste pipe from the wall. To install the toilet you need to have a new trap seal, new T-bolts (and nuts) if your existing ones are rusty, and a toilet seat. To function correctly, the bowl needs to be level. You can adjust the level of the bowl by tightening the three mounting bolts incrementally. This pdf from Kohler gives full installation details, including the tools that you may require.
