If you are shopping for a new toilet, you might want to look into getting Saniflo toilets reviews. Especially one with an attached macerator system. The fact of the matter is that you want to save money and water, which these toilets will allow you to do.
Saniflo Toilets: Reviews
Saniflo toilets are very unique because they come with a macerator system to help save water. Let’s take a closer look at what we think are the best Saniflo toilets out there right now.
Saniflo Toilet Two-piece SaniPlus
This is a really cool toilet to go with. One of the best features here is that it helps to save a lot of water. It also uses only 1.6 gallons of water per flush, a lot less than most other toilets and it’s also very eco-friendly.
One of the reasons why it can do this is because it uses the patented macerator system. That means, there is a tank in the back that the waste enters after flushing.
This tank contains macerator blades that chop the waste up into small pieces, which are then flushed out using a pressure system. This helps to minimize the need for large amounts of water, which is obviously a big bonus.
Keep in mind that this macerator chamber can also be hooked up to bathtubs, showers, as well as sinks.
What is also nice about this toilet, is that although it does have quite a few moving parts, they are kept to a minimum. The fewer moving parts there are, the fewer things there are which can potentially break.
Installing this toilet is not overly hard for what it is, but it does take a bit of work. You have to connect the macerator tank to the toilet, the water valve to the toilet, and the macerator tank to the disposal drain. Plus, the toilet itself needs to be bolted to the ground as well.
The toilet itself is a porcelain gravity flush toilet, one that is quite efficient as well as easy to clean.
All in all, we think that the Saniflo Toilet Two-piece SaniPlus is a great option to go with for multiple reasons; it looks nice and is easy to clean, is fairly simple to install, and helps save water while preventing clogs.
Features:
- 1.6 gallons/flush
- Quite efficient
- Eco-friendly
- Uses macerator system
Saniflo SANICOMPACT Dual-Flush System
This is another unique, yet also very efficient and convenient toilet.
For one, this is a toilet that does not have one of those large water tanks in the rear. This is a tank-free toilet, or what some would call a half toilet.
The major benefit is that it takes up minimal space. It’s a great option if you have very limited space and simply do not have enough room for a large toilet tank.
The Saniflo SANICOMPACT toilet uses just a single gallon of water per flush. This is important because it is about 4 times less water than your average toilet uses, thus helping you cut down on costs by conserving water use.
Since this toilet does not have a tank, the water enters it directly from the rim, which is connected to the water source.
What is also impressive about this toilet is that it has the power to flush down so much waste, while barely using any water.
What is also cool about the Saniflo SANICOMPACT toilet is that you can connect the wastewater pipes from your sink to it and dispose of that water as well.
Thankfully, this toilet is very small and easy to install; it takes barely any work to install.
Do keep in mind that the flushing system is electric, so it does need to be connected to a power source.
Features:
- Very efficient
- Tank-free toilet
- 1 gallon/flush
- Flushing Power
Saniflo Sanibest Pro: Macerating Upflush Toilet Kit
One of the best aspects of this particular toilet is the macerator kit located in the rear. The macerator system consists of a chamber in the rear, which contains a pressure system as well as macerator blades.
When solid waste and water enter this chamber, the blades pulverize the waste into tiny little pieces, thus allowing for the pressure system to easily blast it away out the drainage system.
The Saniflo Sanibest Pro: Macerating Upflush Toilet Kit can be installed a full 18 feet below the sewer line; it still has more than enough force to flush the waste up to the sewer line.
Moreover, the Saniflo Sanibest Pro: Macerating Upflush Toilet Kit barely uses any water for flushing – only 1.6 gallons per flush, which is less than half as much as most standard toilets use.
This is thanks to the powerful flushing mechanism as well as the macerator. The toilet is made of white porcelain, which we like because it looks quite nice.
Porcelain also does not easily stain, plus it is easy to clean and fairly durable as well. Even better is that the Saniflo Sanibest Pro: Macerating Upflush Toilet Kit can connect to showers, sinks, and other greywater sources for a great all-in-one kit.
The Saniflo Sanibest Pro: Macerating Upflush Toilet Kit is fairly easy to install, although it does take a bit of work.
You need to attach the toilet to the ground, the water source to the tank, the toilet to the macerator, the macerator to the drainage, and then attach other grey water sources if you choose. It does take a bit of work, but thankfully it is not very difficult.
Furthermore, this toilet comes with a decent warranty, which is always quite important for the consumer’s protection.
Features:
- 1.6 gallons/flush
- Fairly easy to install
- Made of white porcelain
- Easy to clean
Saniflo Sanibest Grinder Pump with Round White Toilet
Yet another great Saniflo toilet, this one also comes with a heavy-duty macerator system located in the rear. These macerator systems are great because they help to conserve a lot of water.
The fact that waste enters the macerator chamber and is then chopped down into tiny pieces is great when it comes to disposal.
The macerator system is actually a heavy-duty system, which means that it can grind down larger quantities of waste than most others.
Thanks to this, the Saniflo Sanibest Grinder Pump with Round White Toilet can be located up to 15 feet below the sewer line, making it great for basements and for areas where there are only small sewer pipes available for connection.
At the same time, this is also great in terms of water usage, using only 1.6 gallons of water per flush; this is less than half the amount of water used by other toilets.
The toilet is a standard round toilet made of porcelain. It’s super easy to clean and barely stains at all. At the same time, the porcelain is extremely durable, plus it looks quite nice as well.
Just like all of the other Saniflo macerator toilet kits we have reviewed, it does take some work to install, plus you do need an electrical connection for the macerator system.
Yes, you can install it yourself, but it might be wiser to get a plumber to do it for you.
On the upside, the macerator tank can also handle sinks, showers, and various other grey water-producing items.
Features:
- Heavy-duty macerator system
- Great for basements
- 1.6 gallons/flush
- Made of porcelain
Bundle-16 Elongated Toilet with Sanibest
This is the final Saniflo toilet on our list today, but still a very good option to go with nonetheless.
Just like the others we have looked at, this one uses only 1.6 gallons of water per flush. This is beneficial as far as water consumption and the environment are concerned, not to mention that it doesn’t jack up your water bill.
It is surprising that a toilet like this which uses so little water has the ability to flush so much waste with ease. This is due to the macerating system which it comes with.
The macerator is equipped with heavy-duty blades and a grinding system. When waste enters the system, the blades chop everything down to size so it can be flushed with ease. A pressure system then shoots it through to the sewer pipes.
This also means that you can install the Bundle-16 Elongated Toilet with Sanibest up to 18 feet below the sewer line without any special modifications required. It’s definitely a neat system.
Do keep in mind that you need the system to be connected to electricity to function, which can be a bit of a pain.
When there is no electricity, such as during a power outage, an alarm will sound. Thus, notifying us that the system is not functional at the moment.
Besides that, you get a normal toilet with an elongated bowl. Although it is technically easy to install, as they only require 4 connections, getting a plumber to do it for you may be easier.
We like the elongated toilet bowl because although it is not particularly space friendly, it is roomy and comfortable to sit on.
The toilet is made of porcelain, which is durable, easy to clean, and looks nice too.
Features:
- 1.6 gallons/flush
- Easy to install
- Made of porcelain
- Uses electricity to function
The Saniflo Macerator System
Just in case it is not clear to you, let’s explain exactly what the Saniflo macerator system entails because it is worth understanding.
These macerator tanks connect to the outflow of the toilet trap way. Once you flush the attached toilet, the wastewater enters the macerator tank in the rear. Within this tank, there are special blades and/or grinders. These work to grind and chop waste down into really small chunks for easier disposal.
There is then a pressure system that shoots the wastewater and wastes out of the macerator tank into the sewer drainage system.
Saniflo Toilets Benefits
For one, it helps save water. As you may have noticed from the above reviews, these toilets that use the macerator system use on average half or even a third of the water as your standard toilet. It is definitely beneficial for the environment and for your wallet.
Another benefit is that the macerator system allows you to put toilets in places where they normally could not go. If there are small sewer pipes or if you want to put a toilet a few feet under the sewer line, this macerator system will allow you to do so.
On the other hand, these macerator systems require some extra installation. Instead of just attaching a toilet to the water intake and the sewer system, there is a macerator to deal with. You need to attach the water inlet to the toilet, the toilet to the macerator, and the macerator to the sewer pipes.
It’s not overly difficult, but it does take some more work. The fact that they need electricity to function is quite a drawback as well.
Conclusion
When it comes down to it, a Saniflo toilet is a great thing to have, especially when you get the macerator kit as well.
They allow you to save water and install toilets in places where they otherwise could not go.
