TOTO Supreme Toilet Review

The TOTO Supreme Elongated One-piece Toilet has been in production for about 10 years but still looks very modern. It is a single-piece toilet with a low-profile tank. The toilet has a standard 12” rough-in and will be a direct swap for many existing toilets. This toilet is slightly lower than many of the currently produced toilets that have to be within a specified height range to suit ADA requirements. This lower seat height may make it more suitable for a location with younger users. The toilet is supplied with a chrome trip lever in the rank and a soft close seat. Let’s read the Toto Supreme Toilet review to see the details of the product!

Toto Supreme Toilet: Review

Design / Materials

toto supreme toiletThe Toto Supreme toilet is made from vitreous china with a high glaze finish.

Flushing System

This toilet has a single flushing option or 1.6 gallons per flush. To aid the efficiency of the flush, it uses Toto’s Power Gravity flushing system to boost each flush.

Cleaning

There are no special finishes on the surface of the Supreme. This means that most of the popular toilet cleaners can be used for cleaning.

Consumption

The Supreme toilet uses 1.6 gallons per flush. This means that the Supreme toilet means it is ineligible for any EPA Water Sense rebates.

Ease of Installation

Many users have commented on how easy this toilet is to install. The toilet requires a standard 12” rough into the waste pipe for installation. Being a one-piece toilet means that it is a little heavier (at 89 lbs.) than two-piece toilets, but lighter than many other single-piece models. The compact overall size makes it a little easier to maneuver into position over the waste pipe when compared to other single-piece toilets.

Toto Supreme Toilet Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Streamlined, modern look
  • Low profile design
  • Soft-close toilet seat included
  • Chrome trip lever for flush
  • Lower height toilet seat when compared to ADA height toilets – only 15 ½”

Cons

  • Not Water Sense certified
  • Does not meet ADA specifications
  • Cannot be used in some US localities due to water consumption

Overall                4.0/5

The TOTO Supreme Elongated Toilet is a compact toilet that takes up less space than many of the current toilets available. The lower-than-ADA height seat can be a real bonus for some smaller users, especially younger kids. As a toilet, it does what it is meant to do and does it efficiently.

That being said, this toilet is relatively expensive (and this price cannot be offset by getting a Water Sense rebate). It lacks many of the features that are available on many more current designs, like low water consumption, special surface finishes that keep the toilet cleaner for longer, and enhanced flushing features.

If the dimensions are a feature that is important to you, then this toilet can offer a good option. However, there are many more toilets that may offer additional features for a lesser cost than the Supreme. Check out our list of the Top 10 toilets or the Top 5 Dual flush toilets.
