Kohler Cimarron Toilet: Review

Design/Materials

The Kohler K-3887-0 Cimarron toilet is made, in two pieces, from vitreous china with a full glaze trap way. This toilet comes with a seat at chair height or comfort height toilet. Thus, making standing and sitting easier and having an elongated bowl for additional comfort.

Flushing System

The 1.28 gallons of water that are used on each flush is boosted by the AquaPiston flushing system. This boosts the water pressure which then forces the water into the bowl around the complete perimeter of the rim.

Kohler Cimarron’s flushing system ensures that the toilet is cleared of all waste with the first flush and no clogging.

Cleaning

As part of the Water sense certification, this toilet has to clear a set amount of miso paste every time on the first flush.

The AquaPiston flushing system, combined with the contour design of the bowl and the full glaze trap way all add to make the Cimarron have a very effective, first-time flush cleaning capacity.

This toilet does not have any special coatings. So, you can definitely use most cleaning products to clean the toilet.

Consumption

The Kohler Cimarron uses only 1.28 gallons of water per flush. This toilet, due to its low water consumption plus the ability of the toilet to clear all waste in a single flush is what makes the toilet Water Sense certified.

Water Sense-certified toilets can, in many areas, qualify for rebates from water bills. To check if your area is covered check out the EPA Water Sense rebate finder page.

Ease of Installation

The toilet uses the standard rough-in of 12” to the center of the waste pipe from the wall. In order to install the toilet, you need to have a new trap seal. You will also need new T-bolts (and nuts) if your existing ones are rusty, and a toilet seat.

The fact that this toilet is a two-piece makes the installation easier due to having less weight than a single-piece toilet but does need the tank to be fitted to the bowl.
