The standard Toto Drake 2-piece toilet is a very popular toilet due to its simple, but very effective design. This standard toilet comes with an elongated seat shape and a left-hand trip lever flush. Our Toto Drake II review will concentrate mainly on the most popular version of the toilet. But, there are a number of options that can make the toilet fully ADA compliant.
Although the standard toilet comes with a left-hand chrome trip lever, one of the ADA specifications is that the trip lever is placed on the approach side of the toilet. Therefore, Toto offers the Drake with a right-hand trip lever to comply with every eventuality.

Toto Drake Toilets Design/Materials – 4.5/5
For comfort and ease of use, the toilet has an elongated bowl design. Also, when a suitable seat is added, it’s a similar height to a chair.
The tank is a high-profile design which means that it takes up less space than many elongated bowl-design toilets. There is also an option to have lockable lids to avoid tampering with the flush mechanism.
The Drake is available in a variety of colors – Cotton, Sedona Beige, Colonial White, Bone, and Ebony.
Flushing System
Like other Toto models, the Drake II toilet uses Toto’s G-Max flushing system, which gives an added boost to the efficiency of the 1.6-gallon flush.
The system uses an extra-large water outlet combined with a powerful siphon action to boost the flushing action of the 1.6-gallon flush. The water enters the bowl through angled nozzles to increase the efficiency even more.
The computer-designed fully glazed trap way ensures that the toilet removes all waste completely in a single flush.
Cleaning – 4.7/5
The Toto Drake II toilet has a large 3” valve, as opposed to the industry standard 2”. This larger valve means a quick and more powerful flush that delivers the 1.6-gallon flush in about half the time of a standard flush.
This extra powerful flow, combined with an enlarged 2 1/8” fully glazed trap way means that the Drake is almost impossible to clog.
Consumption
Drake uses 1.6 gallons per flush and although it does not meet EPA Water Sense guidelines, the efficiency of the flush means that it will clear the toilet with only one flush.
Ease of Installation
Drake uses a standard 12” rough-in from the finished wall to the center of the waste pipe. This toilet is one of the few toilets that comes complete with all the parts that are needed to install it, apart from thy seat which must be purchased separately.

Very unpleasant and un safe the way the toilette seat slides from left to right . Never had this situation before. What can be done?
We have to clean our Toto Drake after each and every bowel movement. Debris on the back wall, in particular, is never washed off during the flush operation. When I talked to a local Toto distributor, he almost laughed at me — saying that they never heard of such a thing! I would never, ever purchase another Toto, and I guess we’re going to have to replace this one at our own expense, since the warranty is perhaps the shortest in the industry.
